Programs

An Unexpected Journey offers specialized programs which focus on the unique needs and nuances of a cancer patient, survivor, and caregiver. These programs provide a learning and sharing environment while being with other cancer patients, survivors, and/or caregivers with a Cancer Coach facilitator. Each program will introduce new tools and concepts that will help the participants travel their journey. Patients, survivors, and caregivers gain a new or renewed sense of empowerment and clarity while learning to integrate the new tool or concept into their Cancer Journey.
The Programs we offer are:

  • A Free Monthly Teleseminar with different topics each month
  • 4 Different Cancer Teleclass Series
  • Retreats
  • Cancer Coach Training (for Certified Life Coaches Only)

 

FREE Monthly Cancer Teleseminars

Teleseminars are workshops conducted over the telephone. These telephone workshops allow the participant to engage from the comforts of their own home or wherever they choose. The teleseminar facilitator and Cancer coach will provide an overview of the topic and explain the possible relationship/relevance to the audience. Through interactive exercises and group discussion, the participants will explore how this topic and concepts can relate and apply to their own lives and their Cancer Journey. Participants will leave with new and helpful information that they can apply immediately.

Cancer Teleclasses Series
12 week programs

 
These specially devised teleclasses address the many issues and challenges encountered by Cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. A teleclass series will take a theme and break it down into 6 individual components, one for every 2 weeks. The participants and facilitator/Cancer Coach will delve into the nuances of the component and how it applies to the individual during their Cancer journey. A combination of learning, action, coaching, and discussion makes these Cancer Teleclasses a dynamic and powerful resource and support compliment to any treatment program or as an aid in re-engaging with one’s life after treatment. The guidance and hand-holding makes this journey easier to maneuver.

“Go from Panic to Powerful” –
Explore the power of SLAMS and discovering your personal power. Participants will complete this series with a strong set of tools and concepts for moving from Panic to Powerful including creating a vivid personal vision of where they are heading.

“Whole Being Healing” –
True healing must be done on all levels – physical, mental and soulful. In this series, participants will explore what these mean to them and will create their personal plan for Whole Being Healing.

“The Survivor’s Transition” –

The transition from Cancer patient to survivor can feel like getting fired from your job. This series will guide the participants through this transition as they reclaim their natural strengths, talents and desires towards a life of meaning, purpose and value.

“The Caregiver’s Lifeline” –

No one said it would be easy. The job of a caregiver requires a combination of love, discipline and patience for your charge and yourself. This series has you in community with other caregivers while you learn tools, structures and techniques for keeping your sanity and energy.

Cancer Retreats

 

Full day Retreat – “Go from Panic to Powerful with SLAMS”
An indulgent day-long immersion of conversation, instruction, and play as you move from panic to owning your personal power with the SLAMS tool and concept. In community with others touched by Cancer, you will spend the day applying SLAMS into your life and allowing it to move you towards greater control in your life.

Weekend Retreat – “Now What? Finding Your Wings to Fly”
Once you finish treatment or are put on a long-term regiment, your support team (medical and other) seems to disappear and you’re often left alone to figure out how to move forward. “Now What?” is a likely question you have asked yourself. What do you do next?


The questions can be stifling. We understand. This weekend residential retreat allows you to be with other Cancer Survivors in the same situation for 2 impactful days. Surrounded by the nourishing nature of Northern California and a community of Cancer survivors, you will safely explore these questions and your answers as you begin to create a plan for moving forward with meaning and purposefulness. You will leave the weekend with a sense of clarity and vision of where you want to go. You don’t have to this by yourself. We are here to help you find your way and your wings.
